Why injury? It's this simple: more children die from injuries every year than from the next three leading causes of death combined. Nobody knows this because no one is talking about it. In the U.S., one child dies every hour from an injury that could have been prevented. Around the world, a child dies every 30 seconds as the result of an injury. You don’t need to have a child to know that we can do better.

By putting safety first, we here at End Injury are often accused of ruining the fun of childhood, so when we saw a recent blog, “Why My Kids Hate Me Right Now,” we had to share it with our readers. The headline caught our attention for its blunt truth: your kids will let you how just how much they dislike your decisions. It’s not fun to be the parents whose kids are looking longingly at the neighbors' trampoline, but as the blog points out, if parents are making good choices for their children, they should get used to being the "bad guys," at least for a while. The post also gives great advice about how to handle children who are upset about rules, so it’s worth a read whether your kids are teenagers or still in diapers. Check it out here.
