Why injury? It's this simple: more children die from injuries every year than from the next three leading causes of death combined. Nobody knows this because no one is talking about it. In the U.S., one child dies every hour from an injury that could have been prevented. Around the world, a child dies every 30 seconds as the result of an injury. You don’t need to have a child to know that we can do better.

End Injury

It’s the beginning of August, and a heat wave has much of the country sweating as we go about our lives. As the temperature goes up, so does the need to drink more water.

When we were researching the data behind dehydration, we ran across this video from Safe Kids. Take a minute to watch it.

This week’s Operation End Injury action, drinking plenty of water, is an easy one to do, but it can be really hard to make little changes permanent, especially for your kids. Sometimes, a kid-to-kid message will stick better than a thousand reminders from an adult, so show this video to your children. Maybe next time they go out to play in the heat, they’ll remember Brody and his mission to recruit kids to the Hydration Nation.
