Why injury? It's this simple: more children die from injuries every year than from the next three leading causes of death combined. Nobody knows this because no one is talking about it. In the U.S., one child dies every hour from an injury that could have been prevented. Around the world, a child dies every 30 seconds as the result of an injury. You don’t need to have a child to know that we can do better.

Team Up Day

End Injury

We here at End Injury noticed a tweet from Chris Nowinski--he's a former athlete who now works on concussion-related issues-- about Team Up Day, an initiative that asks young athletes to look after one another by reporting signs of concussion to coaches, parents, and others.

If you are the parent of an athlete, take a few minutes to watch the video and forward it to your child's coach. Ask that the whole team participate in Team Up Day. As Chris says, a teammate with a concussion needs everyone's help. On Sept. 13, take the pledge to Team Up, Speak Up.
